As a maker I relish the physical challenge of attempting to control a material that is in a constant state of metamorphosis.
The expressive possibilities and potential to alter the glass form directly are what first attracted me to blown glass. I further alter my forms and shape them off the iron, carving and cutting into the cold glass surface with diamond wheels.
I use a wide variety of visual inspiration for my glass pieces that can vary in scale from landscapes, to the intricate cellular structures of flesh. Pen and ink drawing is an important part of my creative process, allowing me to focus my ideas and develop them.
